Costa Coffee, the nation’s favourite coffee shop*, has challenged TV favourite Kate Bottley to roll up her sleeves and don a novelty apron in the name of festive fun, and
take part in a Christmas Bake Off – with hilarious results.
The tricky challenge sees the bubbly TV and radio personality attempt to create her very own version of Costa’s Double Chocolate Yule Log at home. As Kate is an experienced baker, Costa raised the stakes and tasked her with making her version of the classic Christmas treat blindfolded!
The outcome is utterly comical, with Kate making a lot more mess than magic, despite her best efforts to outshine the Costa Coffee bakers. The tongue-in-cheek video has been launched today to celebrate Costa’s extensive Christmas menu, which launched last month and is available in stores nationwide.
Kate Bottley said: “Christmas is my favourite time of year and I love an excuse to get into the kitchen for a festive cook up. So when Costa Coffee challenged me to the Christmas Yule Log Bake Off I knew I couldn’t resist, but even I have to admit I was perhaps a little too confident – blindfolded baking is no easy task! Despite my best efforts, Costa’s Double Chocolate Yule Log was definitely the winner.”
Fans of the chocolatey Christmas treat should keep an eye on Costa Coffee’s social channels over the coming weeks as Costa will be spreading Christmas cheer with whole Double Chocolate Yule Logs giveaways.
The Double Chocolate Yule Log is part of Costa Coffee’s limited-edition Christmas menu and is available in stores nationwide from £2.60 a slice. For more information and to see the whole Costa Christmas menu visit www.costa.co.uk
