Last night, WeWork announced eight winners who received a grand total of $738,000 at the London Creator Awards Regional Semi-Final event at Printworks, in front of over 4,000 attendees. The Creator Awards is a global initiative awarding funding to entrepreneurs, small business, nonprofits, performing artists, and more who are thinking in new ways, building fresh projects, and achieving real change.

Special guests and notable London attendees included: Ashton Kutcher, Diplo, Rajesh Agrawal, Vanessa Kingori MBE, Mila Kunis, Jonas Templestein, Emma Gannon, Laura Whitmore, Melissa Hemsley, Chidera Eggerue, Andy Jordan, Michelle Kennedy, Joshua Coombes, Scott Harrison, Harriet Rose, Lilah Parsons, Georgia Green, Carly Wilford, Isabella Charlotta.

Selected from a pool of applicants from across the UK & Ireland, finalists pitched their ideas, business models and organisations before a live audience and judges including: Ashton Kutcher; Vanessa Kingori MBE, Publishing Director of British Vogue; Jonas Templestein, Co-Founder of Monzo; and Michelle Kennedy, Founder of the Peanut app. Eight winners were awarded from $18,000 to $360,000 in funding for projects ranging from an organic and fair trade hair product company, to a volunteer network addressing gender-based violence.

“I am fired up by the WeWork Creator Awards and fired up by the potential of all this. Creators will define the future. As a startup, you have ups and downs, and face a number of obstacles, but you have to keep going. That’s how we truly solve problems,” said judge Ashton Kutcher.

The grand prize of $756,000 went to Afrocenchix, a company that blends natural and organic ingredients to create ethically sourced, environmentally friendly and effective hair-care.
