ake to the river this February half-term with MBNA Thames Clippers (www.mbnathamesclippers.com) and visit London’s fun-filled family activities. From making your own gadgets to an ultimate day out at The O2, families will be spoilt for choice. Thanks to London’s fastest and most frequent River Bus service getting from event to event is a doddle, with routes from Putney in the west to Woolwich in the east.

Museum of London Docklands

Families can hop off MBNA Thames Clippers at Canary Wharf Pier to experience and celebrate the East End’s distinctive culture from 16 to 24 February. Museum of London is offering free storytelling and workshops for both children and under-fives. If visiting between 11 and 24 February, join the ‘Easy as Pie’ workshop where little ones can use craft materials and their brilliant imagination to recreate some of the most well-known flavours of famous East End pie and mash shops.

National Maritime Museum

From 16 to 24 February National Maritime Museum celebrates LGBT history month and brings back the magnificent Rainbow Week. AHOY! Hop off at Greenwich Pier to enjoy their colourful activities, with the chance of becoming a pirate as you explore life on board a pirate ship in the eighteenth century. Become inspired by the bright colours in the museum and create flags, hats and badges that best represent you.

MAKESHOP Science Gallery

Hop off at London Bridge between 20 to 23 February to experience London Science Gallery’s first edition of MAKESHOP. It offers the opportunity to get hands-on making your own gadgets, gizmos and original artworks, a brilliant activity for under-fives as it engages younger minds with science, art and technology. Workshops include exciting activities that teach kids how to create circuits out of paper, or create a ‘jiggling Doodlebot’, a doodle that comes to life and doodles its own piece of art. All you need is curiosity and enthusiasm, but may be best to leave the instructions to them.

The ultimate fun-packed family day out at The O2

To visit The O2 this half term, hop off at North Greenwich Pier and enjoy a view of one of the greatest skylines in the world from Up at The O2. Between 16-24 February, O2 Priority members can benefit from 50 per cent off. While at The O2, enjoy a shopping spree at the new ICON Outlet, or visit the interactive Sky Studios to experience sitting behind the desk reading the latest Sky News or Sky Sports’ headlines, all for free. There’s an array of choices for the whole family, whether it’s enjoying a game at Hollywood Bowl with 25 per cent off when bowling before 10am, or watching a film at Cineworld with D-Box cinema seats and ScreenX immersive screen technology. The adrenaline junkies can also jump around at the Oxygen Freejumping to take part in the ‘Let’s Play!’ competition to be entered in Oxygen’s big tech giveaway.

Hop aboard MBNA Thames Clippers where kids go free with a Family River Roamer, an all-day hop-on hop-off ticket for two adults and up to three children (15 years and under) for just £35.60, when you book online.
