Sandy Trappitt, Director of Fundraising, Nordoff and Robbins, said:
“Polygon’s immersive ‘Portal’ listening room concept brings the idea of music being more than something we just listen to – rather something we experience with our whole self – to life. It deeply resonates with our mission of using music and music therapy to enrich people’s lives, and we are proud to partner with such an innovative, forward thinking company.”
From global spatial audio pioneers
Polygon Productions has spent years developing immersive spatial audio environments, working with artists to reimagine how music is experienced. Their approach places audiences at the centre of sound, using multi-speaker environments to create a three-dimensional listening experience. Polygon Portal brings this technology into a permanent, intimate setting for the first time in London.
Polygon is partnering with L-Acoustics and deploying a 17.1.10 L-Acoustics sound system supported by L-ISA, a hardware solution that allows advanced object based mixing for immersive audio productions. 17 Speakers around the audience, each with a sub, 10 speakers overhead supported by 6 subs, and 4 additional subs at the front of the room.
Polygon Portal is designed for artists, labels and listeners who want to explore music differently. From album launches to listening sessions, the space offers artists the opportunity to present music in immersive spatial formats, including Dolby Atmos and bespoke spatial mixes.
Adam Nicholas, Founder of Polygon Productions, says:
“Polygon Portal was created for people who truly love music. In a world of constant noise and distraction, we wanted to build a space where listening becomes the main event again. Spatial audio is transforming how music can be experienced, but too often it’s treated as a technical feature rather than a creative opportunity. Polygon Portal is designed to change that, bringing audiences inside the music and creating an intimate experience that’s as exciting for artists as it is for listeners.”
With limited capacity and exclusive access via Polygon Insider membership, Polygon Portal aims to become a new cultural destination for music lovers and wellbeing seekers in London.
Polygon Insider members will receive access to sessions, early booking opportunities and entry to the Portal’s social space and bar in Soho.
