THE team from the locally owned and run opticians in Hampton shared top tips on eye care during the heatwave when they supported The Hampton Pre-Prep and Prep School Summer Festival with its World Cup theme.
Specsavers Hampton St Clares Sainsbury’s Ophthalmic Director Samit Shah, and store team chatted to parents and children about eye care and tips on managing a high pollen count and UV.
Samit says: ‘It was a great atmosphere at the Summer Festival, we were delighted to sponsor the event. The children who visited our stand took part in the ‘Spin the Wheel’ competition to win spot prizes. We also handed out stickers, colouring charts and tips on eye health, including information about myopia so their parents could find out more.’
‘During the afternoon, we also spoke to lots of parents highlighting the importance of screen time, particularly as we have seen an increase in myopia in children which could be a result of them spending more time on devices.’
A highlight of the school calendar, the Summer Festival also included a bouncy castle, photo booth, football rodeo, strawberries and cream and much more!
