On Friday the 10th of September 2021 Fashions Finest were notified by SME News, a digital business publication on winning the SME News Award for the Best Independent Fashion Event Management Company – London, the second year running.
Deborah St Louis said:” I woke up to this good news. I did not even know we were nominated again.” It has been a welcomed boost after a tough year of not being able to run a core part of her business activity resulting in some substantial financial hit like so many small to medium businesses.
The Fashions Finest showcase was launched in 2010 following the set up of the Fashions Finest magazine in 2009. This was to offer an alternative, viable and ethical platform for new and emerging designers and brands. As a launchpad Fashions Finest has been promoting a diverse spectrum of fashion designers to the national and international fashion industry with a primary focus on British designers, since its inception. Previous designers have received international press attention and snapped up to be stocked and sold nationally and internationally.
During lockdown, the company, known to for promoting diversity, representation, and inclusion in the fashion industry as well as those coming into the industry via non-traditional alternative route, restructured as CIC. Known for supporting new designers and those further along in their journey as well as designers from the BAME communities, lower socio-economic groups, and non-traditional routes, director Deborah St Louis believes the industry is yet to see more volatile conditions, and the support of independent and UK designer remains critical an invaluable even more so for those she supports and advocates for. This was the main reason for restructuring her business, to better address the inequalities within the fashion industry for new and established designers.
