Channel 5’s hit makeover show 10 Years Younger in 10 Days has picked up the award for Best Fashion & Makeup Show at the National Reality TV Awards 2021.
The programme was nominated in the category alongside Say Yes to the Dress UK, 100% Hotter, Tattoo Fixers, Just Tattoo of Us, How to Look Good Naked, You Are What You Wear and Bring Back the Bush: Where Did All the Pubic Hair Go?
Hosted by TV journalist Cherry Healey, who also won Best Television Presenter, the 10 Years Younger in 10 Days makeover team – including fashion stylist Gemma Sheppard, makeup artist Hannah Martin and hairdresser to the stars John Vial – have just ten days to transform the looks and confidence of people who look and feel older than their years.
Gemma Sheppard described the win as “beyond incredible”.
Speaking at the event last night at London’s Porchester Hall in Bayswater, the fashion guru said: “It was a total honour to be nominated so we’re all overjoyed that the show has been recognised in this way.
“As a team, we invest everything into the show and totally believe in the power of what we do. We literally change lives with the transformations that we create and not just physically but emotionally – that is a privilege. Winning the award is a wonderful feeling, just beyond incredible. We are all so thrilled.”
The second series of 10 Years Younger in 10 Days – created by multi-award winning TV production company Maverick TV – launched on Channel 5 in March and viewing figures peaked at 1.3 million.
Creative director Hannah Brownhill added: “The 10 Years Younger in 10 Days experts and Cherry all really care about the process. They work wonders in their areas of expertise but also all play a vital role in coaching and caring for the cast, boosting their self-esteem with every styling session and treatment. This really translates to the viewer and is why this series has performed so brilliantly with the Channel 5 audience. 10 Years Younger in 10 Days is so much more than a makeover show, it’s a life transformation series and we at Maverick are tremendously proud of it.”
