100% Optical, the UK’s largest optical show co-located with 100% Ophthalmology, has announced its first batch of CPD education sessions, with the second phase due to go live in the coming weeks.
Set to take place at London’s Excel from 28th February – 2nd March 2026, the optical exhibition, with the new tagline ‘where eyewear meets eyecare’, will once again be partnering with the Association of Optometrists (AOP) to curate an excellent education programme consisting of over 100 hours of CPD-accredited sessions.
100% Optical’s dedicated hubs and theatres include:
The Main Stage
AOP Lounge
Optical Academy (hosted by EssilorLuxottica)
Dispensing Workshop

The organisers of the optical show are working closely with its partners and exhibitors to curate content that is led by the industry and its demands. The seminars provide visitors with a selection of sessions to interact with across the three days, including keynote lectures, interactive sessions, discussion workshops and peer reviews.
Key topics will showcase myopia management, glaucoma, AI, anterior segment eye disease, inclusive communication, to name but a few.
A selection of the CPD sessions visitors can expect to experience at the 2026 show include:
Interesting cases in anterior uveitis
Day One, 16:45, Optical Academy
Join Optometrist at Bristol Eye Hospital, Matthew Chan, for a peer review session that offers an informal space for optometrists to discuss a variety of interesting and challenging anterior uveitis cases, and explore the association between uveitis and systemic health through real-world case reviews to enhance delegates’ diagnostic and management skills.
Eye health for all – tackling glaucoma together
Day two, 9:15, Main Stage
Robyn Asprey, Development Manager at Glaucoma UK, will explore Glaucoma UK’s co-produced outreach work with African and Caribbean communities to raise awareness of glaucoma and promote early detection. The session will also share how partnerships with optometrists have helped address barriers to accessing eye care, including trust, awareness and accessibility.
Remediation in fitness to practise proceedings – is it worth it?
Day Three, 10:30, Main Stage
Eleanor Curzon, Barrister at 23 Essex Street Chambers, will present an overview of fitness to practise proceedings of the General Optical Council and consider the role that remediation can play in those investigations. The presentation will also consider whether there is merit to completing various types of remediation during such a process and the impact such actions can have.
Accessible communication and the art of effective symptoms and history taking
Day Three, 15:30, Dispensing Workshop
Join RNIB’s (Royal National Institute of Blind People) Head of Eye Health at Optometry and Low Vision, Dr Louise Gow, and Optometry and Low Vision Engagement Manager, Preeti Singla, as they cover inclusive communication through an interactive session. Delegates can learn how to carry out a thorough history for patients with sight loss in primary care and low vision settings, and how to use that information for target setting. Delegates will leave with an understanding of the importance of adapting symptoms and history taking, how to apply the accessible information standard to optical practice, active listening and person-centred decision making, and much more.
Visitors to the show’s co-located 100% Ophthalmology can also enjoy dedicated sessions including:
Transforming ophthalmology with Artificial Intelligence with Professor Pearse Keane, Professor of Artificial Medical Intelligence and Consultant Ophthalmologist, Institute of Ophthalmology, UCL and Moorfields Eye Hospital.

Next year’s education programme promises to cover a wide variety of peer-reviews, lectures, and interactive sessions that cater to the needs of all practitioners and industry professionals looking to broaden their knowledge and improve their practice.”
