This festive season, John Lewis Oxford Street is inviting guests to dine above the Christmas lights of London, as its 6th-floor rooftop destination, 1864 Rooftop Bar & Kitchen, launches three cosy heated Igloos for private festive dining. Each Igloo comes with a speaker, giving guests the freedom to bring their own playlist and create the soundtrack to their celebration, alongside seasonal food, drinks and panoramic views across the capital.

Accommodating up to eight guests seated or 10 standing, each Igloo offers 2.5 hours of exclusive use, creating an intimate setting for festive lunches, dinners and drinks with friends, family or colleagues.
Festive feasting above Oxford Street
At the heart of the Igloo experience is a Set Feasting Menu, alongside 1864’s À La Carte Menu, giving guests the choice of how they want to dine and celebrate.
The Set Feasting Menu is priced from £65 per guest and includes a glass of Domaine Evremond Classic Cuvée. Created for a relaxed, sharing-style dining experience, the menu brings together seasonal ingredients and generous winter flavours.
Guests begin with Gordal olives with orange and rosemary, Padrón peppers with Maldon salt, and Gouda and rosemary picos, followed by an amuse of wild mushroom cappuccino, wild mushroom velouté and porcini dust.
To share, the menu includes harissa king prawns with rose harissa butter, garlic confit and preserved lemon; buttermilk fried chicken with lime, chilli, honey and coriander; kale and samphire fritters with date and tamarind chutney; and pumpkin latkes with pickled red onion and cardamom soy labneh.
For the main course, guests can choose from roasted halibut with brown shrimp butter, potato fondant and tenderstem broccoli; slow-braised beef cheek with creamed mash, heritage carrots, glazed baby onion and crispy shallot; or Delica pumpkin with roasted chestnut tahini, sage butter, pumpkin seed dukkah and pomegranate molasses.
Dessert brings a choice of Christmas sticky toffee pudding with brandy butterscotch and vanilla ice cream, or chocolate and olive oil ganache tart with black cherry and kirsch.

Alongside the Set Feasting Menu, guests can also choose from the À La Carte Menu, making 1864 suitable for everything from relaxed festive lunches and drinks to celebratory dinners.
