October marks the beginning of sake brewing season and Danish-Japanese restaurant group, Sticks’n’Sushi, is celebrating by bringing a taste of Japan’s sociable drinking culture to Soho with Nomihodai – Japanese for ‘all-you-can-drink’ – for one night only.
Taking place on Thursday 22nd October, the evening will give guests 90 minutes of unlimited* sake, Japanese bites and good conversation.
For £38, guests can drink their way through five different sakes – KAY Sake, Dreamsake, Sake Ono, Akashi Tai Sparkling and Akashi Tai Yuzushu – ranging from smooth and velvety to dry, sparkling and zesty. Alongside the pours will be dishes from the Sticks’n’Sushi kitchen including ebi bites, spicy tori, edamame and kani korokke.
There’s no masterclass and no need to know your junmai from your ginjo. Instead, Nomihodai is simply an opportunity to discover different styles of sake in a relaxed, informal setting inspired by the sociable evenings found across Japan; where food and drinks are shared, conversation flows and strangers can arrive around the same table and leave as friends.
Tickets are limited for this Nomihodai event which welcomes both seasoned sake enthusiasts and curious first timers to celebrate all things sake in the city this autumn. The event takes place on Thursday 22nd October from 7.30pm to 9pm at Sticks’n’Sushi on Soho’s Beak Street.
