Social enterprise Change Please has launched 10 Days for Change (1–10 October 2026), ten days of action against UK homelessness that link International Coffee Day to World Homelessness Day on 10 October.
The 10 days brings together fundraising, community events and conversations with decision-makers, with 100% of donations going to fighting homelessness.
As part of the campaign, Change Please welcomed Florence Eshalomi MP, Minister of State for Homelessness, Democracy, Communities and Faith at MHCLG, to its Cardinal Place cafe in Victoria London on 5 October. This comes as the government puts the Prime Minister’s pledge to give everyone sleeping rough a route off the streets for Christmas into action.
At the cafe, the Minister met trainee baristas with lived experience of homelessness, who taught her how to make a coffee and shared, in their own words, what the training has meant to them. She then stepped aboard the Driving for Change bus to meet the team who bring healthcare, showers, haircuts, financial inclusion and employment support directly to people on the streets.
The visit showed the full Change Please pathway, from support on the street to training, a living-wage job and help with housing, and underlines the urgent need for more critical support and funding.
Cemal Ezel, Founder & CEO of Change Please, said: “A home is the start, not the end. Training, a living-wage job and the right support are what keep people off the streets for good. We were proud to show the Minister how that works and reinforce the urgency for their support. The 10 Days for Change is a chance for the public to be part of our mission, whether that’s walking, dancing or simply buying a coffee.”
Across the ten days, Change Please is inviting the public to get involved:
10 Mile Walk for Change, any day 1–10 October: supporters can walk 10 miles in their own time and on their own route to raise awareness and funds. Ten miles is the average distance a person sleeping rough walks each day. All donations can be made at JustGiving over the 10 days.
Change Please Coffee Rave, Friday 9 October: live DJ sets and freshly poured coffee at the Change Please Academy in Peckham, 6:30pm–10pm. Entry is a £10 donation, and every drink is made by a barista in training.
The campaign follows a strong start to the month for Change Please, which took home the Social Impact Award at the Drinks Sustainability Awards.
