The London Review Bookshop will host a watch party in collaboration with the Booker Prize on Monday 9th November, inviting fans of the best in contemporary fiction to watch the unveiling of the winner live from one of the city’s best-loved independent bookshops. Guests will enjoy delectable wine, cocktails and snacks from the Bookshop’s neighbouring café, St. JOHN, which will open late for the occasion.
One of five watch parties across the UK and Ireland, these events mark the first time the Booker Prize has collaborated with bookshops to give fans the opportunity to watch the announcement live in the company of fellow readers. All five will take place in much loved independent bookshops, of which the London Review Bookshop is a prime example. Since opening in 2003, it has hosted regular readings, film screenings and events, making it a vibrant hub in the heart of Bloomsbury.
A prize draw on the night will invite guests to guess which book will be crowned the winner, with those who guess correctly in with the chance to win more than £100 in book-related prizes, including the shortlisted books and wine from St. JOHN.
