Tickets are now on sale for Origins, a major new immersive sound and light installation created exclusively for St Paul’s Cathedral by the internationally acclaimed artistic collaboration Luxmuralis.
Running for nine nights, Origins will turn the Cathedral into a living work of art, weaving together light, sound, projection and architecture to reveal treasures from St Paul’s collections in unexpected and extraordinary ways.
Inspired by ancient maps, historic words, secret libraries, musical scores and the Cathedral itself, the installation invites visitors to see familiar spaces in a different light as they journey through a series of immersive artistic environments.
For the first time, visitors will also have the option of purchasing access to the Cathedral’s iconic Whispering Gallery as part of their visit. Situated 99 feet above the Cathedral floor, the gallery will provide a rare vantage point from which to experience the installation.
Origins marks Luxmuralis’ return to St Paul’s following the success of Luminous, which drew thousands of visitors to the Cathedral in 2025.
Sandra Lynes Timbrell, Director of Visitor Engagement at St Paul’s Cathedral, said:
“Origins invites visitors to see St Paul’s Cathedral through a different lens, drawing on our collections, archives and architecture to reveal stories that are often hidden from view.
“Whether visitors are discovering St Paul’s for the first time or returning to a building they know well, we hope Origins will inspire a sense of wonder and curiosity about the many stories held within the Cathedral.”
Peter Walker, Lead Artist and Artistic Director of Luxmuralis, said:
“Origins has been created especially for St Paul’s Cathedral and is inspired by the remarkable history, collections and spaces that make it such an extraordinary place.
“Through light, projection and sound, we wanted to create an experience that enables visitors to explore themes of history, knowledge, creativity and connection in a deeply immersive environment. St Paul’s provides a spectacular setting for this work, and we are delighted to bring Origins to audiences in February.”
