Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is delighted to announce the young winners of its fourth annual School Art Competition, celebrating the creativity and artistic talent of young people across London. The competition invited budding artists aged 4-14 to unleash their imagination to bring to life this year’s competition theme: Dragon Takes Centre Stage!, inspired by Gandeys K-Pop Dragon Circus.
Produced by Gandey World Class Productions, the circus show will make its dazzling London debut exclusively at Winter Wonderland this festive season, bringing a young dragon’s story to life through K-pop, captivating storytelling, comedy and breathtaking circus artistry.
The expert judging panel was made up of one of the stars of Gandeys K Pop Dragon Circus, La Loka the Mischievous Clown, Mariska Gandey, a Director of Gandeys Circus, and award-winning author and illustrator Harry Woodgate, author of Cinnamon Crumb. The judges faced the challenging task of handpicking Gold, Silver and Bronze winners from more than 500 imaginative submissions.
After carefully combing through each submission, the panel has selected the following Gold category winners across four age categories:
Age 4-5: Isaac from St Joseph’s RC Primary School in Bermondsey
Age 6-8: Maia from Cañada Blanch Spanish School in Notting Hill
Age 9-11: Nuraa from Burdett-Coutts & Townshend Foundation CE Primary School in Westminster
Age 12-14: Sophia from Mount House School in Chipping Barnet
Gold Winners have bagged themselves four tickets to Winter Wonderland’s Preview Night, a £250 art supply voucher for their school and Winter Wonderland official merchandise. Silver winners will receive an exciting Winter Wonderland ticket package, including tickets to the Magical Ice Kingdom and ringside seats at Gandeys K-Pop Dragon Circus, whilst Bronze winners will take home an epic Winter Wonderland ticket package with entrance to Gandey’s K-Pop Dragon Circus. A total of twelve winners will have their marvelous artwork proudly displayed at this year’s event, bringing their creations to life and becoming part of the festive magic for all to see, on top of a special certificate posted to their school and a book from Usborne.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and thanks every school and student who participated for sharing their extraordinary vision.
