A roof with a view: Central Hall Westminster re-opens spaces for summer

Central Hall Westminster is marking the re-opening of its rooftop space this summer with a special offer on room hire and the creation of sumptuous seasonal catering packages.

The venue’s Skyline Terrace, boasting views of the iconic Westminster Abbey, will be available for hire from June to August, providing event planners with an impressive location for their summer socials.

With space for 40 standing and 30 seated, the Skyline Terrace is a welcome extension for events held in the South Rotunda room – a circular space with skylight and standing space for 50 – during the balmier months.

To coincide with the re-opening of the terrace, Central Hall Westminster’s expert team has created summer packages for those booking a daytime meeting or event at the venue, including complimentary evening hire of either the South Rotunda and Balcony or, if required, the entire 4th floor, which accommodates up to 250 guests standing – perfect for an evening summer social with a view.

Those looking to book a standalone evening hire between June and August can choose the South Rotunda and Skyline Terrace for up to 50 guests for £3,500+VAT. For larger events, the space can be increased with the addition of the North Rotunda for £6,500+VAT. Both options are available until 10pm and include security.

To help toast the season, Central Hall Westminster’s caterer, Green & Fortune, has created three summer menu options ranging from drinks and nibbles to a hot and cold buffet.

Seasonal dishes on offer include canapes of compressed cucumber, sun-blushed tomato, vegan feta; Seared tuna, pickled ginger, wasabi emulsion, bonito flakes and seared Texel lamb, broad bean puree, and apricots. Bowl food options include tandoori summer squash, saffron coconut rice, red chilli oil; Mini crayfish brioche roll, Old Bay marie-rose and grilled chimichurri chicken skewer, carrot tahini, chickpeas, smoked olive oil.

Option three is a hot and cold buffet, served from food stalls with dishes including Tulum tacos filled with barbacoa lamb and chicken mole; salmon or tofu poke and buttermilk chicken with guacamole. Desserts with a tropical influence using seasonal fruits will complete the offering.

Sarah Franczak, Chief Operating Officer, Central Hall Venues, said: “Summer in a city like London can be so much fun, so we wanted to provide event planners with a space they could use to allow their delegates to kick back and relax in after a day of meetings. Central Hall Westminster is a unique venue and our balcony area with its views of the iconic Westminster Abbey makes a great setting, and accompanied by Green & Fortune’s delicious summer menus will make for a memorable summer event.”
