Recently one of Autism’s got Talent performers Bradley Turner took part in a lecture for learning disability nurses at the University of Wolverhampton.Bradley explained what life was like for him as an individual with autism.
Subjects ranged from his own diagnosis to the inequalities faced during his life, to his successes including showcasing his talent on Autism’s got Talent in central London and recently in Essex.
The workshop day ended with a performance of “Small town boy”
Sean Ledington, Nurse Lecturer from the Learning Disability team told us “I asked Bradley to attend the session to help raise awareness of living with autism, but to also look at the person first, not just the disability.”
Bradley and his parents also spoke and gave an insight into the challenges Bradley faces of being diagnosed with autism both as an individual and parents.
Sean Ledington said ‘We will be using Bradley again for future events.’
Bradley said, ‘I thoroughly enjoyed it and it gave me the opportunity to share my thoughts and feelings, hopefully my presentation will help the nurses to understand other people with autism better.’
Anna Kennedy OBE Founder of Autism’s got Talent stated ‘Bradley is a wonderful and talented young man. I am so proud of him and can see him growing in confidence every time he performs’
Bradley also took part in AnnaKennedyonline’s charity album launched at The Hard Rock Cafe in Mayfair where he sang an original song written by Aaron Yorke ‘All I want is you’
