Whatever happened to being young and in love? New research has found millennials to be the biggest culprits of not playing cupid on Valentine’s Day, as almost a third (32%) have forgotten to buy a gift for a loved one!
What’s more, the study has found that karma does sometimes come back around, with 30% of the generation admitting they’ve ended up paying more by leaving it to the last minute with only expensive gifts left available to buy.
In a bid to help couples rekindle the romance without breaking the bank, Aldi has opened its first ever flower stall today in one of the UK’s busiest train stations, London Waterloo.
Conveniently located in the heart of the station and with prices starting from just £2.29, Aldi’s flower stall features classics like the Love Always Bouquet (£9.99), a heaving bunch of red roses, to more unique blooms such as the Elegance Bouquet (£14.99) – a colourful array of roses and lilies, meaning commuters are spoilt for choice.
Better still, smitten travellers can spread even more love this Valentine’s Day as 100% of the proceeds from the stall will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust.
Julie Ashfield, Manager Director of Buying at Aldi UK, said: ”By launching a flower stall at the centre of one of the UK’s busiest train stations, we hope to lend a helping hand to those strapped for both time and money – whether it’s for a partner, family, or friend, our stunning range of bouquets will mean commuters can arrive home with the perfect bunch at the best possible value. Those customers that can’t make it down to Waterloo don’t need to panic – all of our beautiful bouquets will be available to purchase in stores too.”
Commuters passing through Waterloo today can make a purchase at Aldi’s purse-friendly flower stall for as little as £2.29. The stall is open from 7am – 7pm.
