ALTON TOWERS RESORT RE-OPENS FOR A SEASON TO REMEMBER WITH A NEW CHILLING DARK RIDE

Families and thrillseekers are set for a season to remember at Alton Towers Resort thanks to the arrival of a new haunting dark ride, a calendar of thrilliant events and memorable experiences not to be missed.

Today (Saturday 18th March), the Theme Park officially opened The Curse at Alton Manor, a haunting new dark ride taking guests on a hair-raising journey through the spectacular twists and turns within the cursed Manor.

Guests are invited to visit the abandoned Alton Manor and uncover the story of Emily Alton. The Resort’s most immersive dark ride to date brings special effects that are a first for a UK theme park – from twisted projection mapping technology that transports riders into Emily’s own doll’s house, to mirrors that play tricks by blurring the lines between reality and Emily’s demonic world.

Ride deeper into the historic Manor as Emily just wants to play. Left alone in the attic, with nothing but her doll’s house, Emily becomes lonely and forgotten. With nothing but the sound of music and laughter of the parties hosted by her parents, her hatred grew, fuelled by frustration and bitterness. Dark forces surround Emily, becoming a vessel for the evil that has seeped into every corner of the Manor.

From April 17th, Alton Towers Resort will roll out its world of thrilliant events for never-ending fun and thrills this season. Guests can expect to be immersed into a whole world of thrilliant events this season with sensational live entertainment and world-class rollercoasters. This year the Resort will see the return of Mardi Gras, Oktoberfest, the award-winning Scarefest and Fireworks Spectacular, plus Festival of Thrills is back for its second year with an exciting The Smiler themed takeover for 2023. Tickets for Festival of Thrills, Mardi Gras, Oktoberfest, Scarefest and Fireworks are on sale now.

Making a totally rad return this season is the Retro Squad as guests can spin, slide and fly on Spinjam and Funk’n’Fly.
