Amazon Prime, Transport for London and Links Signs are rebranding Piccadilly Circus to support the launch of the new series ‘Star Trek: Picard’ launching on January 23rd.
The central London station is set to unveil a space-themed new look this week that includes an exciting temporary name change. Star Trek fans affectionately known in the community as ‘Trekkies’, will be delighted to know that from the 15th – 16th January the station will be renamed ‘Picardilly Station’ to pay homage to the legendary fictional character Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
Commuters can expect to see changes throughout the space including the transformation of the iconic TfL roundels into equally iconic Starfleet Emblems. Large scale graphics and promotional materials willbe ready for public viewing on the morning of the 15th January.
Paul Cox of Links Signs Says: ‘This campaign is set to create a buzz around Star Trek’s return to our screens for the new Amazon series. The promotional overhaul allows Amazon to reach audiences to inform them about the release date in a creative way, celebrating a fictional character whose legacy will go down in history. In the words of Captain Picard – we think it’s really set to ‘engage’ the public!
The new spin-off series will see Patrick Stewart return to the Star Trek Universe as Captain Picard alongside a star-studded cast. It is an exploration into his later years following two decades on shore leave.
