Andy Slaughter MP visits Blue Cross Hammersmith

Andy Slaughter MP recently visited Blue Cross Hammersmith animal hospital.
The hospital serves over 2,000 pets whose owners struggle with the cost of private veterinary care and has been providing this service since 1922.
At the visit, Slaughter heard about the Blue Cross’s work to reduce dog control issues. The charity runs a Responsible Dog Ownership Course (RDOC) which supports dog owners and their pets at a critical point and increases community safety. They work with police forces across England and Wales and have a zero per cent reoffending rate.
Andy Slaughter MP said: “It was a pleasure to return to Blue Cross Hammersmith and witness once again the outstanding dedication of the team supporting pets and their owners across Hammersmith and Chiswick. Their compassion and professionalism are truly inspiring. At the same time, hearing about the financial pressures facing charity veterinary services was a sobering reminder of the urgent need to support organisations doing such vital work in our communities.”
With the increasing demand for Blue Cross pet welfare services, the charity needs the support of animal lovers in Hammersmith and Chiswick to continue its work helping pets and their people, in any way they can. Whether that’s by donating to keep rehoming and veterinary services going through these tough times, fundraising for Blue Cross, providing foster care for pets while loving new homes are found, volunteering at pet food banks, or signing up to support Blue Cross campaigns for better pet welfare.
