This evening, Annie Mac celebrated the launch of her debut novel, Mother Mother, on the Double Standard Terrace at The Standard Hotel with close friends including Nick Grimshaw, Meshach Henry, Sara Cox and Jeremy Vine in attendance.
Mother Mother is a powerful coming-of-age novel about finding light in dark places, and examining the cost of unconditional love. It is a story about family ties, addiction, the resilience of women and the Teflon-strength bond that can exist between a mother and a son.
Annie hosted the event on Double Standard Terrace, best known for its hearty food, draught beers and twists on classic cocktails. Guests gathered after a long period apart for a casual evening of reunions and drinks, including Double Standard signature cocktails, Elderflower Collins and G & Teas, and a selection of canapes on the outdoor terrace.
