Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £20,000 for information about a shooting near Brixton that saw two young men lose their lives.
21-year-old Guilherme Messias da Silva, a delivery driver who was finishing his shift, was hit by a car and suffered fatal injuries at around 7.50pm on Sunday 30 October 2022. Another man, Lemar Urquhart, who was 27 and known as Perm, was shot dead.
Detectives believe two cars were driving in the Railton Road area when one of the cars collided with Guilherme’s moped before further colliding with parked vehicles nearby. Guilherme, the moped driver, died at the scene.
Lemar left his vehicle and was pursued by a gunman from the second car. It was at this point that Lemar was shot and killed. The gunman then jumped into the second car and fled the scene.
At this stage, the Met Police has told charity Crimestoppers that, on 8 November, a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. He was taken to an east London police station and bailed to return in mid-December.
