Work by London Mudlarks are amongst the highlights of a new retail range launched by London Museum Docklands as part of its new major exhibition Secrets of the Thames: Mudlarking London’s lost treasures (until 1 March 2026).
The collection include limited edition prints by Amy-Leigh Bird, replica Roman lamps by maker Mark Sowden and exquisite ceramics by Raewyn Harrison inspired by London’s 17th & 18th century Delftware potteries.

This carefully curated collection- including many bespoke and exclusive products- will showcase rich history, storytelling and craft inspired by the Thames foreshore. Work by mudlark artists will sit alongside a wider range including textile print illustration by London designer Craig Yamey, and a specially commissioned collection for children designed by London illustrator Dominic Trevett.

Early records of mudlarking date back to the mid-1800s, when London’s poorest communities would make a living by searching the foreshore for items to sell. Today it is the preserve of licensed mudlarks who search the foreshore to find historical treasures revealed at low tide. It is hobby that’s seen a huge boom in recent years.
