Taste of Autumn is back for 2021 with spectacular autumn displays, an abundance of seasonal produce to enjoy, and for the first time, live cookery demonstrations inside the recently opened RHS Hilltop – The Home of Gardening Science. Taste of Autumn will take place at RHS Garden Wisley from 13 to 17 October.
A feast for the eyes – the garden will be awash with colour, featuring fabulous autumn displays crafted by the RHS Wisley garden curators. Highlights include the impressive hordes of gourds underneath the cherry trees, providing a patchwork quilt of autumnal tones.
Visitors can admire Wisley’s own delicious produce, plus sample a wide selection of local treats from 30 artisan food and drink stands – from cheese and chocolate to spirits and sweets.
New for 2021, live cookery demonstrations will be held at the kitchen theatre inside RHS Hilltop. A line-up of culinary connoisseurs including gardening influencer Lucy Hutchings (She Grows Veg), cookery writer Lerato Umah-Shaylor, ‘guru of no dig’ Charles Dowding, TV presenter Mr Plant Geek and BOSH! are among the hosts of daily talks.
A returning festival highlight is the popular apple identification, with gardeners invited to present their own apples to the RHS Wisley Fruit Specialist who will identify their mystery cultivars. The RHS Edibles team will also be on hand to offer expert advice and tours of the World Food Garden and Orchards every day at 10.30am.
Admission to Taste of Autumn is free to RHS Members, normal garden admission applies to non-members. Advance booking is essential for talks and cookery demonstrations.
