Specsavers Barnet, located on the high street, is recognising ophthalmic director Sabirah Peara, who has worked at the store since 2020 and has been a key figure in its continued growth and service to the community.

Sabirah, who began her journey with Specsavers in 2009, has worked across three different locally owned and run Specsavers stores before settling at Barnet, where she has spent the last five years as ophthalmic director. she qualified as an optometrist after completing her BS (Honours) optometry degree.

Sabirah lives locally to the area and has built strong relationships with the store’s customers and local businesses, many of whom she has supported throughout her time in the town.

Having spent five years in Barnet, Sabirah has already seen the store undergo many changes, adapting to the ever-changing environment to ensure that the business can continue to support and service its residents such as working during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reflecting on her time at the store during COVID-19, Sabirah says: ‘It was unlike anything I had experienced before. The entire high street was closed, and the whole team was at home except for the directors and store manager.

‘It was challenging but also a real reminder of how important our care is to the community.’

The team at Specsavers Barnet says Sabirah’s contribution has been invaluable, both in terms of leadership and customer care, and look forward to celebrating many more milestones in future.

Pragna Raghwani, Retail Director at Specsavers Barnet, says: ‘Working alongside Sabirah over the past five years has been an absolute pleasure. Her dedication to our customers and commitment to delivering exceptional clinical care have played a huge part in shaping the store into what it is today.

‘We’re incredibly proud to celebrate this milestone with her, and I’m looking forward to many more achievements together in the years ahead.’
