Developer Barratt London has raised over £125,000 for charity Muscular Dystrophy through a hugely successful charity gala and auction.
Over 450 attendees joined Barratt East London for its inaugural Gala Dinner hosted at The Brewery Hotel. Guests enjoyed a drinks reception and live music before hearing from billionaire businessman Barry Hearn, setting the stage for an exciting and competitive auction. Highlights included rare sports memorabilia such as a signed 2003 Rugby World Cup winning jersey, a luxury spa weekend, an F1 driving experience, and PDC Darts World Championship tickets, which fetched an impressive £6,000.
All funds raised from the event were in aid of charity Muscular Dystrophy, a charity that Barratt London has developed a relationship with in recent months, following the launch of its wheelchair accessible units at its Bermondsey Heights development. Muscular Dystrophy’s purpose is to build and connect a community of more than 110,000 people living with one of over 60 muscle wasting and weakening conditions, and all the people around them.

The money raised was far more than we could have imagined and will be used to support the 110,000 people in the UK living with a muscle wasting condition. At Muscular Dystrophy UK we fund research, campaign for faster access to treatments and provide vital support and information to enable those that are affected to live well – we can’t do any of that without the generous support of our partners and donors. Huge thanks to the Junior Board for such an impactful night that will help to change the future of muscle wasting conditions.”
