The Young Brent Foundation has received a donation from Barratt London to support the hosting of Saturday skills masterclasses, which help to improve the future job prospects of local young people. The housebuilder, responsible for the No. 10 Watkin Road development in Wembley, donated £1,000 to help the charity increase its resources and boost opportunities for young people hoping to make a change within their local community.
One of the charity’s most popular training programmes is the Creative Co-ordinator initiative, in which 14 to 17-year-olds attend masterclasses to learn skills such as project management, community engagement and strategy development. These skills are then used in a Dragons Den-style pitch, to win funding for their project.

Through its Community Fund scheme, Barratt London seeks to support charities and organisations local to its developments in order to help communities thrive, and create a positive legacy. The scheme allows the housebuilder to donate £1,000 each month to a charity or organisation working to improve the quality of life for those living in the local area.
