On Saturday 13th November, Barratt London welcomed a pop-up foodie market to its Upton Gardens development in Upton Park. The market, hosted by Urban Food Fest, included a selection of street food trucks and a bar, with musicians on hand to provide lively entertainment for visitors.
The food available included savoury offerings of baked chicken wings and fries from Baked Bird, pulled meat wraps from Better Pulled, and curries and samosas from Pink Oven. For those with a sweet tooth, Sweet Sis provided cakes, waffles, and crepes, while Café Bueno warmed up visitors with its hot drinks.
Pam Reardon, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt East London, said: “It was wonderful to see residents and members of the community socialising and enjoying the food and drink on offer at Upton Gardens. Thank you to all the vendors that attended the event, to the musicians, and to Urban Food Fest for helping to make this a fantastic day for all involved.”
The event was completed by a life size 3D anamorphic street painting from world renowned artist, Joe Hill (3D Joe & Max), which was on display for visitors to interact with. The artwork offered viewers a glimpse into the development’s past as the former site of West Ham United’s Old Boleyn Ground, with a giant bubble floating out above the stadium. Attendees were encouraged to take pictures of themselves sat inside the bubble and to share them on social media using the hashtag #StreetArtUpton.
