St George’s Hospital Charity, an organisation which helps to improve the patient experience at St George’s Hospital and Queen Mary’s Hospital in south west London, has been recognised by Barratt London’s Community Fund initiative. The housebuilder, currently building the nearby Springfield Place development on Glenburnie Road, has donated £1,000 toward the charity’s Covid Appeal.
Barratt London’s Community Fund sees the housebuilder donate £1,000 per month to a local registered charity or organisation working to improve the quality of life for those living in the local area. The donation to St George’s Hospital Covid Appeal has helped provide necessary equipment, weekly wellbeing boxes for staff, hot meals for Covid wards, iPads for patients to maintain contact with loved ones and added support for the vaccine clinic.
Pam Reardon, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt East London, comments: “It is wonderful to see the support that St George’s Hospital has been able to give to the NHS at its time of need, and the kindness shown in communities local to our developments. The charity has served a vital role through this difficult time, and we are proud to have been able to support their Covid Appeal.”
St George’s Hospital is a registered charity which funds medical research and state-of-the-art equipment. Through fundraising the charity can fund projects which help the lives of the thousands of people who are cared for by local hospitals and community services each year. The Covid Appeal has allowed the charity to provide over 900 weekly Staff Wellbeing Boxes to wards and departments across St George’s Hospital, Queen Mary’s Hospital and local community sites.
Chloe Roberts, the Community and Events Fundraiser for St George’s Hospital adds: “I would like to thank Barratt London on behalf of all the staff and patients we support. We are dedicated to improving the medical experience within the community for our incredible NHS staff and the hospitals’ patients, and we are able to provide this relief with the support of donations like this one from Barratt London.”
