Are you in the mood to try a new beauty treatment? Whilst we often associate summer as the time for beauty treatments with holiday prep at the forefront of our minds, winter can actually be the perfect time to give something new a try.
Waxing
If you choose to remove any of your body hair, waxing could be a fantastic option. Unlike shaving, waxing removes hair directly from the root meaning that it grows back thinner and at a much slower pace. Waxing also removes the issue of razor burn and bumps. For many, the only drawback to waxing is having to grow out your hair somewhat in between treatments. If this is something you are self-conscious of thenwinter could be the perfect time for you to give waxing a try as you will be wrapped up in lots of layers so people will be none the wiser.
There are various types of wax treatments you can receive, look for a salon that gives you the option of either wax strips or hot wax so you can see which works best for you.
Chemical peel
With much darker days, and typically far less time spent outside, many of us often experience skin dullness throughout the winter months. A chemical peel can be a great way to combat this. A chemical peel involves the application of chemicals to the skin that exfoliate off the top layer, leaving you with a rejuvenated glow. As well as removing dead skin, these peels encourage the growth of new skin cells.
Chemical peels do need to be carefully considered, be sure to go to a salon that is able to offer professional advice on what is suitable for your skin type and any skin conditions you may have. Chemical peels often leave skin sensitive and more susceptible to sun damage, meaning winter is the perfect time to experiment as you are less likely to be excessively exposed to the sun afterward.
Semi-permanent makeup
The term semi-permanent can often sound scary when it comes to beauty treatments, but semi-permanent makeup has grown in popularity for a reason. Tattooing on an element of your makeup allows you to spend far less time on your make-up in the morning and helps to enhance your natural beauty.
This treatment often involves a healing period, ideal for during early winter when you are likely to be going out less. Once the tattoo has fully healed you will be all set to go in time for the Christmas party season.
Keratin treatment
Whilst frizzy hair is often a problem experienced during humid summers, it isn’t always convenient to try out new hair treatments for the first time during the summer months when you are likely to be going on holiday and out socialising with friends.
Keratin treatments can be extremely effective in giving you smooth, free frizz hair. Do some research into whether this would work for your hair type and consider giving it a go this winter.
