Bobby Moore Academy (BMA) is honoured to have hosted the German president and first lady.
President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Ms. Elke Büdenbender visited Bobby Moore Academy, which is part of the David Ross Education Trust (DRET), on Thursday 4 December 2025.
President Steinmeier and Ms. Büdenbender met senior leaders from DRET, BMA and the Olympic Park and London Legacy Development Corporation, and BMA scholars including Cairo-Evea Antoine. Cairo-Evea plays for the Arsenal Football Club Youth Academy and spoke with the president about her experience playing for the England U-17s Lionesses.
Scholars from BMA also highlighted the Olympic legacy of BMA, which is in the Olympic Park, before the president viewed the London Marathon Community Track, located at the academy.
President Steinmeier was joined at BMA by football stars Georgia Stanway (England and Bayern Munich), Kai Havertz (Germany and Arsenal) and Shekiera Martinez (Germany and West Ham United).
The players spoke with the President and Ms Büdenbender about the UK and Germany sporting relationship, as well as club support for young people.

“The visit highlighted the importance of sport and all enrichment opportunities for young people and it was an excellent opportunity to celebrate our scholars’ many brilliant successes.”
