Some entrepreneurs begin building a business because they have a passion. They find a vision, and they chase a dream. Others create a business out of necessity to have an income to live off. For Jay Laurent, it was a little mix of both.
Jay has always had a passion for creation. He has the innate ability to brainstorm a wild idea and make it come to life—this is a perfect character trait for any young entrepreneur. But the fire inside him to start a business came out of necessity.
Born and raised in Pebble Beach, California, Jay dropped out of high school before he was even allowed to drive a car. But, at age 15, Jay knew a traditional education wasn’t his path to success.
“I never let school get in the way of my education,” said Jay Laurent – an homage to the great Mark Twain.
Laurent started taking accredited business courses, following in the footsteps of his father and older brother, whom he admired both as role models and as businessmen.
A 15-year-old dropout wasn’t going to get a cushy nine-to-five office. You’d need a college degree just to score an interview for most of them. So, Jay did what he knew best. He started bringing his ideas to life.
Now at the age of 25, all the businesses Jay has created have a combined equity of more than $10 million. One of those businesses is WireTalk, located on Wall Street in New York City. It specializes in conventional and non-conventional marketing for businesses and offers consulting services to help companies strengthen their infrastructure.
WireTalk is one of many ventures for the budding business tycoon. Laurent, a serial entrepreneur, plans to launch even more ideas in the coming year. However, he has yet to publicly share any details on his projects.
While Jay Laurent has earned millions with his companies, he’s also had millions of people share in his journey. Across his social media platforms, Jay has accrued more than six million followers who have supported him as he continues to build his businesses. He serves as an inspiration to many that anything when you pair a dream with hard work.
And it never comes easy. Some people attribute fame as the reason for his growing success. They may think that just about anyone can get famous on the internet these days, and there is some truth in that. But his social media posts showing off his sports cars aren’t the process of his business, but the results.
“People don’t notice the late nights, early mornings, self-doubt, failures, obstacles, risks taken, money invested. They will only see your results and call you lucky. I never expect these people to understand,” said Jay.
Jay works 10-14 hours per day to maintain his businesses and set them up for future success, and no, he doesn’t get weekends off. His relentless drive, which started at just 15-years-old, has prepared him for a life of success. But Jay Laurent is far from satisfied with where he is now.
In 2022, Jay has helped raise more than $2 million to expand his business ventures through his extensive connections with some of the biggest business names in Beverly Hills, as well as his network of politicians.
Some businesses start with a dream, and others are born out of a need for money. But Jay Laurent is proof that neither can be successful unless you have the knowledge, drive, and hunger to turn them into something truly special.
