Borough Yards, London’s premier lifestyle destination in the city’s creative and culinary heart, is marking International Women’s Day 2026 with a powerful public art installation celebrating the women who have shaped our lives.
From 5th – 8th March 2026, Londoners are invited to take part in a free interactive mirror wall installation, The Women That Made Us, creating a living mural of gratitude and reflection. Members of the public will be encouraged to write a message on the wall to a woman who made them who they are today or played a pivotal role in their journey, whether that’s a mother, sister, best friend, mentor, chosen family or other.
To mark the occasion, the first 50 people to take part will receive complimentary treats from Borough Yards businesses After School Cookie Club and Santa Nata.
The installation arrives at a time when female friendships and chosen family feel more important than ever. With many women finding their greatest strength, support and stability in one another, Borough Yards is creating a space to celebrate those connections this International Women’s Day.
At the heart of the installation is the mirror itself. As participants honour someone else, their own reflection looks back, presenting a subtle but powerful reminder that self-recognition deserves equal space in the story, which echoes the global theme for International Women’s Day this year, ‘‘give to gain’, emphasising the power of reciprocity and support.
Rebeca Guzmán Vidal, Co-Founder of Curate Real Estate, managers of Borough Yards, says: “Borough Yards is a place shaped by creativity and community, and The Women That Made Us reflects this approach. It offers visitors a moment to recognise the women who have influenced them, while highlighting Borough Yards’ commitment to staying responsive to the people who use and experience our space.”
Located in the heart of London Bridge, Borough Yards continues to champion community-led cultural moments alongside its standout line-up of food and retail brands.
