The UK’s leading home improvement retailer has announced it will be opening a new convenience store this week on Nelson Industrial Estate. B&Q Merton will host an opening event on Friday 31st January with a celebratory ribbon cut at 10am. The event will celebrate the new store becoming part of the community with a morning of competitions, giveaways and special guests.
The brand-new store will combine a convenient and extensive range of home improvement products with an inspirational showroom. The compact 13,000 sq. ft space provides a modern environment for customers to explore over 7,000 of the brand’s products, with an additional 40,000 products available for home delivery or click and collect (many from next day). The Merton store showroom features B&Q’s latest kitchen, bathroom, tiling and flooring ranges; there’s a paint mixing service and a great range of brands available; all of your DIY tools and essentials are stocked; and the indoor and outdoor plants will help bring the outdoors into your home.
The new store also welcomes Trade customers to join the TradePoint scheme: membership is free and exclusive discounts are available to trade professionals. From builders to decorators, kitchen and bathroom fitters, TradePoint supplies products for every project.

On Friday 31st January, the store will welcome customers and residents to celebrate with a very special opening event. Radio Jackie breakfast presenters, Neil and Nicky, will be in store from 8am with special promotions and competitions, including the opportunity to win gift cards up to the value of £100. A ribbon cut, led by a specially selected local community champion, will officially open the new store alongside the B&Q team at 10am.
