B&Q, the UK’s leading home improvement retailer, has opened the doors of two brand new express stores in Wandsworth and Tooting.
The new high street location and smaller format stores offer customers all their home improvement essentials with over 4,500 products in each location. Customers will also have 30,000 products at their disposal via diy.com, where they can place an order for home delivery or Click & Collect.
The new high street locations of the stores will make it easier for customers to conveniently access a broader range of DIY essentials. Both stores offer a range of paint as well as tools, hardware and other DIY essentials across décor, electrical, plumbing and cleaning.
Laurinda Caires, Wandsworth store manager, said: “My team and I are so excited to welcome South-West London residents into our new Wandsworth store. We can offer DIY help to anyone who needs it, as well as a wide range of home improvement products. We also have an amazing Design Studio, so we can give help and advice to customers needing it to create their dream home.”
Miheala Benea, Tooting store manager, said: “There’s been a huge trend in people improving their homes during the last year. We are confident that B&Q Tooting will help local DIY-ers, as well as make it easier than ever for customers to access products, no matter how big the job. We’re delighted to say that the opening of our new store in Tooting, along with B&Q Wandsworth, has created 46 jobs in the local area.”
Similar to shopping at other essential retailers, B&Q is limiting the number of customers in the stores at any one time and has strict social distancing measures in place. These include sanitiser stations and two metre markers on the floor, as well as perspex screens and contactless payments at checkouts.
The two new smaller format stores in Tooting and Wandsworth are part of B&Q’s new store opening strategy, reflecting customer expectations for speed and convenience. The opening of the Tooting and Wandsworth stores bring B&Q’s total number of new stores to 11 since January 2020.
The news stores are open 7 days a week: Monday-Saturday 7am-8pm, and on Sunday 10am-4pm.
