Arts Trust, producer of King’s Cross Summer Sounds and Summer in the Park, has today announced some exciting additions to the programme for the very first St. Osyth Summer Sounds: Music & Food Festival, including a new Producers Market Music Stage featuring a line-up of local and grassroots talent, and more incredible TV chefs joining the Chef Stage bill.
St. Osyth Summer Sounds is a vibrant two-day celebration taking place on Sat 30 & Sun 31 August at the stunning St Osyth Priory. Set in beautiful historic grounds, this family-friendly event is designed for all generations to enjoy together, through world-class live music, mouth-watering food and unforgettable cultural experiences in the heart of Tendring.
The Producers Market and Food Festival is set to serve up an irresistible offering of global flavours and the finest local produce from the likes of Ragmarsh Farm, English Spirit, The Forge Kitchen and Baytree Pizza, but it now has a brand-new Music Stage featuring a show-stopping line-up of the best local and grassroots artists playing all weekend, programmed in partnership with Clacton Arts Centre.
Wowing the crowds on Saturday 30 August will be multi-instrumentalist Cameron Mackie, guitarist with fresh arrangements of well-loved songs Jayden Wells, collective led by singer-songwriter David J Brown A Light Left On, unique vocalist Roger Douglas, Irish singer-songwriter Sinead Orme, bona fide troubadour David Angus, and praised for her unique raspy vocals Codi Rox.
On Sunday 31 August the line-up will include Latin Jazz duo Luna Nova, rising voice on the UK music scene Laura Wyatt, soulful acoustic artist Sophie Nash, celebrated for his heartfelt songwriting Luke Fisher, acoustic duo with a repertoire full of well known hits from almost every decade Verona, radiant acoustic duo Sunflower Acoustic, performing original songs inspired by the 50s Colz & Friends, and indie-pop singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Grace Calver.
There are also two top TV chefs joining an already stellar list of names on the Chef Stage; winner of Master Chef 2020 Thomas Frake who won over the judges, as well as the public, with his consistent delivery of outstanding modern British classics, and Great British Bake Off 2024 finalist Christiaan de Vries who brings his love and flair for fashion and design to his bakes, which are meticulously detailed and beautiful.
Already announced at St Osyth Summer Sounds is double MOBO Award-winning saxophonist YolanDa Brown who will headline on the Saturday with her Bob Marley Songbook, a fitting tribute to what would have been Marley’s 80th birthday year, infused with her signature blend of Jazz, Reggae and Soul.
Sunday will bring the internationally acclaimed singer Joe Stilgoe alongside West End glamour to St Osyth as Daniel Boys, currently King George III in Hamilton, takes the spotlight for Songs from the Shows, joined by Oliver Savile (Pretty Women, Les Miserables, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera), Laura Pitt-Pulford (Standing at the Skies Edge, Aspects of Love, Sunset Boulevard, Falsettos), and Gemma Knight-Jones (Come From Away, Starter for 10, A Christmas Carol, Falsettos) for an amazing evening of musical theatre.
All weekend long, the Chef Stage hosts live chef demonstrations, each session expertly hosted by Saturday Kitchen TV chef Joe Hurd, with MasterChef finalists Madeeha Qureshi and Arbinder Dugal. With the Fire Pit being hosted by experienced chef, baker, patissier and currently Chef Technical Coach for Lifetime Training’s Chef Academy Adam Windsor.
Across the weekend there will be plenty of family-based activities and workshops including crafts, puppetry and circus skills, as well as the chance to explore the Clacton Classic Car Club on Sunday, while music-lovers can expect to see a carefully curated schedule of folk and indie artists – check the website for all days, times and further details.
