Following significant investment from local Franchisee Claude Abi-Gerges, the restaurant will open for dine-in, takeaway, and ready on arrival. Opening hours will be 6am to midnight, seven days a week.

This new opening marks another exciting milestone for McDonald’s and reflects the company’s continued investment in London’s high streets. It ensures that even in one of the capital’s busiest areas, people are never too far from fresh, hot, and delicious food. The restaurant has been designed with convenience and speed in mind, helping to meet the needs of commuters, workers, and visitors in the heart of the city.

Claude Abi-Gerges is proud to be opening his 38th restaurant. Having joined McDonald’s in 1995 as a Trainee Manager, this year Claude celebrates 30 years with the company. Today, he employs over 3,300 people, with a workforce that reflects the rich diversity of London itself. His leadership team represents a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives—something Claude considers essential to building an inclusive, resilient, and forward-thinking business.

Local McDonald’s Franchisee, Claude Abi-Gerges, who owns and operates multiple McDonald’s restaurants in London and Hertfordshire, said: “I’m thrilled to be opening this new McDonald’s restaurant in Monument, right in the heart of the City of London. It’s a fantastic opportunity to serve customers in such a vibrant and fast-paced part of the city, and I’m incredibly proud to be taking on this site. It’s a special moment not just for me and my team, but for the brand as well. Monument has always had a strong mix of food-to-go options, but it’s been missing a McDonald’s—until now. I’m genuinely excited to welcome new customers through the doors and to meet the fantastic new team joining us.”

With consumers increasingly looking for greater speed, efficiency and choice when ordering their food, the London Monument restaurant on King William Street has been built in-line with McDonald’s ambitious ‘Convenience of the Future’ programme. This combines a new layout with the latest technology to create a more seamless and enjoyable experience for customers.

The new kitchen design will allow crew to better accommodate customer needs, meaning they will be able to serve more quickly, efficiently and accurately than ever before.

Encouraging the adoption of sustainable practices continues to be a key focus for McDonald’s. As part of its commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2030 across all restaurants and offices, the London Monument restaurant incorporates a range of sustainable design features, including:
