Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club’s newly reimagined first-floor venue, Upstairs at Ronnie’s, will open in four weeks, marking the next chapter for the iconic Soho institution.
Following a complete refurbishment, Upstairs at Ronnie’s has been transformed into a purpose-built 140-capacity auditorium, combining an intimate, world-class performance space with cutting-edge acoustics and state-of-the-art Yamaha and D&B Audio systems.
The opening programme presents a rich and diverse mix of jazz, contemporary soul, acoustic R&B, gospel, musical theatre, hip-hop, global music, classical performances and more. Highlights include the brand-new Ronnie Scott’s Gospel Choir, led by the legendary Daniel Thomas, the club’s new Piano Trio Series featuring shows from Joe Webb, Ashley Henry, Bill Laurance, Charlie Stacey and more, and the first-ever Vocal Jazz Jam hosted by pianist Jamie Safir and a rotating line-up of vocalists Natalie Williams, Emma Smith, and Georgia Cécile. Olivier Award winner Cassidy Janson will bring a celebration of musical theatre classics with a jazz twist, while British alternative soul singer Tawiah will perform intimate sets of her acclaimed work. The club’s Late Late Show, hosted by Tomorrow’s Warriors, will shine a spotlight on emerging talent, and for the very first time at Ronnie Scott’s, a Classical Series will feature the Ronnie Scott’s Classical All Stars reimagining iconic works. The Close Up Classical Series pairs notable cultural figures in conversation with James Pearson and Lizzie Ball, with upcoming guests including film composer David Arnold and actress Juliet Stevenson.
Upstairs at Ronnie’s promises to become an essential part of Soho’s cultural landscape, offering an intimate, world-class venue for music lovers and performers alike.
