The team at Brimsdown McDonald’s restaurant at 1340 Mollison Avenue recently came together to celebrate its Business Manager, Mahamud Abdalla’s, 50th birthday.
Mahamud is a valued member of Brimsdown McDonald’s, known by both crew and customers for his tireless work ethic and constant positive attitude. His colleagues felt it was only fitting to surprise him with a 50th birthday celebration at the restaurant. The party was complete with a custom McDonald’s cake, birthday banners, and a display of photos showing Mahamud with his colleagues.
Mahamud has double the reason to celebrate, for not only did he mark a milestone birthday, but he’s also reached an incredible 25 years with the McDonald’s family! His journey began at Victoria Place McDonald’s, and over the years, Mahamud has brought his dedication and energy to twelve different locations, including Waterloo, Wembley, and Chingford. Starting out as a crew member, he’s continued to progress and is now a Business Manager, responsible for running the Brimsdown restaurant and overseeing over 90 people.
Throughout his career at McDonald’s, Mahamud has been committed to supporting the local community and raising funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities UK (RMHC UK), which provides free accommodation to families so that they can remain close to their children in hospital. Mahamud has raised £1000 for RMHC UK, even completing a charity bike ride covering 48 miles.
Local McDonald’s Franchisee, John Loizou, who owns and operates the Brimsdown restaurant, said: “People are truly at the heart of our business and Mahamud embodies that spirit. Ever since Mahamud joined us at Brimsdown last Autumn, he’s made a real impact with his positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in. This celebration is a reflection of how much Mahamud means to his colleagues, and I personally feel very lucky to have him in my team. Thank you, Mahamud!”
Mahamud commented: “The party was a lovely surprise and I am touched that my team went out of their way to organise it for me. Being a part of the McDonald’s family means a lot to me and I have made so many great memories over the years, especially at our Christmas parties! It’s been a fantastic journey so far and I am excited for what’s still to come!”
