To celebrate the magic of Christmas, ODEON – the UK & Ireland’s largest cinema chain – has teamed up with Britain’s Got Talent magician, Marc Spelmann, to sprinkle a little bit of extra magic on the cinema-going experience this festive season.
Following research revealing that over a third (38%) of Brits rate ‘a sprinkling of magic’ as one of the top ingredients for a festive film, ODEON appointed Marc Spelmann, the BGT favourite who wowed audiences on the show, to surprise and delight guests with some extra special film-related magic!
Recipe for the perfect Christmas film:
1. A heart-warming ending
2. Snow falling on Christmas eve
3. A family being brought back together
4. A sprinkling of magic
5. A realisation of what life is all about
6. Families reconciling their differences
7. Someone finding out Santa is real after all
8. A declaration of true love
9. A kiss under the mistletoe
10. Carol Singers
Marc dazzled guests with his impressive tricks and illusions, including floating popcorn straight from the box, miraculously filling an empty Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald inspired suitcase with popcorn, turning ODEON cinema tickets into money and mind-reading guests’ favourite festive films!
Marc has been on hand to teach select ODEON team members an array of magic tricks so they too can wow guests with a sprinkling of magic. ODEON hosts have also been allocated their own ‘magic allowance’, which empowers them to spread Christmas cheer among guests via random acts of kindness, such as free popcorn!
To ring in the festive season, ODEON will also be sending spell-binding magicians to surprise guests at select ODEON cinemas up and down the country with incredible live performances, marking a jam-packed season of magical films including The Grinch (out now), Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (out now), Disney’s Ralph Breaks The Internet (November 30) and Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns (21 December).
