Rail strikes will return this week with thousands of rail workers demanding better working conditions.
Rail passengers face severe travel disruption over Christmas as rail workers stage a series of 48-hour strikes in December in the long-running dispute over jobs, pay and conditions.
Industrial action will take place on 13, 14, 16 and 17 December, with further strike dates to take place over the key Christmas period, with members walking out from 6pm on 24 December until 7am on 27 December. Disruptions are likely to also take place on the days following.
In response to the planned disruption, Brompton Bike Hire have today announced that they are once again offering free bike-hire for the strike period, allowing stress-free travel across London. Customers will be able to get 48 hours of free hire from the 13th to the 17th of December, and the 24th to the 27th December using the code STRIKE*. Hire is then £5 per day thereafter.
