Brompton World Championship returns to the Capital

This summer, London is welcoming back one of the most iconic events of the cycling calendar, the Brompton World Championship (BWC), celebrating the brand’s 50th Anniversary.

BWC will return for a bigger and better version of the iconic race on 21st June 2025 as a headliner of The London Cycle Festival and VIA Criterium that will be taking over Coal Drops Yard across the weekend of 20-22 June 2025.

Unlike traditional races, the BWC is a cycling extravaganza centred around enjoyment and community from the starting gun to finishing line, a true representation of the brand’s fun and innovative personality.

Forget the lycra at BWC. The wackier and bolder, the better. Participants can wear whatever they choose before running to unfold their bike in a Le Mans style start, hopping into the saddle and making their way around the course to the roars of the crowd.

Brompton, manufacturer of the world’s most iconic folding bike, has been hosting BWCs around the world since 2008. The 2025 edition will mark Brompton’s 50th Anniversary with extra events happening across the weekend, including additional community races, social rides, and fun for all the family.

From newbies to pro, for those racing for fun or for glory, cyclists of all abilities can take part in the main race, along with plenty of opportunities for the whole Brompton community to get involved with free events, live entertainment, food stalls and merchandise available throughout the weekend.
Cyclists from across the globe will experience a one-of-a-kind criterium circuit around the iconic shops, restaurants and infamous gas holder buildings around King’s Cross. The BWC course will feature a ramped descent and sprint through the two tiered ‘amphitheater’, a dog leg on Granary Square and 200m full gas sprint along the VIA Straight.

For BWC competitors with their eyes on the prize, there will be an array of prizes up for grabs across a selection of categories, including a limited edition one-of-a-kind BWC-themed Brompton bike for each winner.

For any Brompton fans who don’t currently own a bike, Brompton Bike Hire codes will be made available, offering fans to loan a Brompton from one of 30+ central London docks. Special hire codes will be available on a first come, first serve basis to individuals who have purchased a BWC ticket.

With tickets sold out to their 2024 event, those who wish to join the BWC fun in 2025 can access early bird tickets from the morning of Friday 4th April. General ticket release will follow at 2pm, starting from £55. Find out more brompton.com/stories/events/brompton-world-championship
