Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Benson Pharmacy in Paddington, London.
Benson Pharmacy is an established and thriving community pharmacy that dispenses an average of 11,000 items per month. It is well-located on Harrow Road, just a five-minute walk from Royal Oak tube station and 15 minutes from Paddington station.
The pharmacy has been owned by Vijay Patel for over 40 years and was brought to market to allow him to retire.
Following a confidential sales process with Tom Laybourn at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by Chirag Shah, who owns a small group of pharmacies in North West London under ProCare Pharmacy and is looking to grow considerably.
Vijay Patel, the former owner of Benson Pharmacy, comments, “I wish the incoming buyers the very best of luck as they take the reins of Benson Pharmacy.”
Tom Laybourn, Senior Business Agent – Pharmacy at Christie & Co, comments, “From day one, Benson Pharmacy generated exceptional interest, attracting a broad range of committed buyers, from established operators to ambitious first‑time purchasers, each eager to secure such a high‑performing community pharmacy. The strength of demand and the competitive offers we received clearly show that buyers are actively pursuing profitable, well‑run pharmacies, with this momentum continuing to drive market success across the South East of England.
“After four decades of remarkable dedication, I’m delighted to have supported Mr Patel in achieving an outstanding outcome, and I wish him a long and enjoyable retirement, starting with a very well‑earned holiday.”
Benson Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.
