Union Chapel has unveiled its 2025 Christmas programme, featuring the chapel’s popular and atmospheric Carols by Candlelight service, a special Christmas concert by Pixie Lott, and the London debut of The Big Christmas London Sing. The Grade I-listed Islington venue will host a full season of festive performances throughout December, showcasing renowned vocalists, folk artists, community choirs, and winter concerts in one of the city’s most atmospheric settings.
Rebecca Ferguson – Tuesday 2 December
Rebecca Ferguson will open the Christmas series with an intimate concert featuring Christmas classics and highlights from her five solo albums. Performing with piano accompaniment, the evening will showcase her acclaimed vocal talent in a stripped‑back setting.

Organ Recital with Thomas Trotter – Wednesday 3 December
Get in the festive spirit with one of the world’s most celebrated organists, Thomas Trotter, for Union Chapel’s first Christmas organ recital in four years, following the repair of their world-class organ.
Trotter has held the esteemed position of Birmingham City Organist since 1983 and is a regular guest with leading orchestras and festivals worldwide. His appearance offers a rare opportunity to experience a master of the instrument in an acoustically exceptional setting.

Eliza Carthy & Jon Boden’s Wassail – Friday 12 December
Folk artists Eliza Carthy and Jon Boden present “Wassail,” a performance inspired by historic English festive traditions. Audiences can expect seasonal songs and storytelling, performed among illuminated Christmas trees in the chapel’s distinctive setting.

The BIG Christmas London Sing – Saturday 13 December
The BIG Sing Choir brings its large‑scale community singing event to London for the first time. A 150‑strong choir will lead an evening of popular Christmas songs and gospel‑influenced arrangements, with audiences encouraged to join in. Suitable for all ages.

Cara Dillon: Upon A Winter’s Night – Tuesday 16 December
Cara Dillon returns with her annual Christmas tour, performing traditional carols and contemporary seasonal songs. Known for her distinctive vocal style and Irish folk heritage, Dillon offers a reflective and atmospheric concert experience.

Pixie Lott – Wednesday 17 December
British chart-topping singer-songwriter Pixie Lott presents her first dedicated Christmas concert, performing her chart‑topping hits along with new material and festive favourites. This family‑friendly performance marks her Christmas concert debut at Union Chapel.

Ben Barnes – Saturday 20 December
Actor and musician Ben Barnes will perform a selection of original material alongside Christmas songs in an intimate seasonal concert.

Carols By Candlelight – Sunday 21 December
Union Chapel’s cherished annual Carols by Candlelight service returns, featuring traditional and contemporary carols, songs, choral music, spoken word, and prayer, all lit by candlelight. Music will be complemented by Union Chapel Voices, Union Chapel Community Singers, and the historic pipe organ, which has recently undergone a significant restoration and is now back in place.
Due to the popularity of the event, a free ticketing system is now in place, with donations of £10 encouraged to help Union Chapel cover the cost of hosting it and supporting the ongoing work of the chapel. Entry by 6.30 pm latest.
