Castle Square celebrates World Environment Day with the ultimate entertainment

Castle Square, the multi-faceted retail and culinary hub located in Elephant and Castle, is celebrating World Environment Day on Saturday 7th June with an eclectic offering of environment-inspired entertainment and workshops. For one day only, the hub will be transformed with a series of craft and community activities to mark the ecological occasion.

Encouraging an alternative, greener form of transportation for residents and attendees alike, bike charity Community Cycle Works will host a quick fix workshop to repair punctures, tighten loose wheels and chains and teach users to pump tyres at their bike drop-in. Meanwhile, aspiring – or seasoned – gardeners can get their hands dirty with Walworth Garden Centre who will offer the seeds and soil for anyone looking to develop their green thumb.

Inviting visitors from the Elephant and Castle community and further afield, Castle Square will also play host to a series of arts and crafts workshops by Art in the Park and Creative Club. Catering to all ages and abilities, both workshops will provide a safe haven for participants to unveil their creative prowess and experiment with colours and composition or shape and size to produce inspired artwork of all kinds. Designed to be age-appropriate and family-friendly, these workshops seek to celebrate each individual’s artistic streak with dynamism and panache.

Join in on this free and fun-filled celebration of sustainability and mark your calendar for Saturday 7th June from 12pm until 5pm. Seize this one-of-a-kind chance to develop eco-consciousness whilst enjoying a spirited day of activities with friends and family.
