Catherine West MP visited TreeHouse School to celebrate a grant of £7,862 from the Morrisons Foundation.

The generous donation from the charitable arm of the supermarket will fund the purchase of an iSandbox, which is an interactive multi-sensory learning tool that will be used at the school.

Based in Haringey, TreeHouse School is run by the charity Ambitious about Autism and provides specialist school and sixth form for autistic children and young people.

The school provides places for up to 100 pupils aged 3-19 who are autistic and have learning disabilities from across London and the Home Counties.

Catherine West MP said “Every child deserves the best possible start in life. Treehouse School is a credit to our community, helping so many autistic children and young people to thrive. I am delighted that this donation from the Morrisons Foundation to fund an exciting new multi-sensory learning tool will support this mission.”

Danae Leaman-Hill, Director of External Affairs and Development at Ambitious about Autism said, “We were delighted to welcome Catherine West MP to TreeHouse School and introduce her to our amazing pupils and brilliant staff team.

“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of the Morrisons Foundation in providing this grant for the iSandbox. It is charitable initiatives like this that enable our autistic pupils to be taught in an interactive and exciting way that supports their ongoing learning and development.”

Dorothy Masaba, Community Champion at Morrisons Wood Green said “At Morrisons, we are committed to supporting the communities we serve. We believe in investing in initiatives that improve people’s lives, and we are confident that the iSandbox will bring additional learning opportunities to the children and young people at Treehouse School.”

The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarket in 2015 and awards grants for charity projects which help improve people’s lives. Since launching, over £46 million has been donated to hundreds of charities across England, Scotland and Wales.
