Famous for its fountain, spectacular art decor, Grade II listed Town Hall and surrounding gardens, Waltham Forest has launched ‘Summer Starts Here at Fellowship Square’, a programme of activities for everyone to enjoy during the summer holidays. Steeped in cultural history with a public space larger than Trafalgar Square, it plays host to a bumper six weeks of free and ticketed events.
‘Summer Starts Here at Fellowship Square’ invites residents and visitors, of all ages, to a range of experiences including a variety of arts and crafts, exhibitions, cultural festivals, sports, performances, summer markets and more. Each week the theme will change featuring activities like 3D modelling and printing, meet insects, martial arts, Full Moon and Gong yoga, play musical instruments and enjoy dance taster sessions to name a few. There is truly something for everyone, keeping the whole community entertained.
At the centre of the square stands the much-loved high tech Fellowship Square Fountains, a go-to destination for the whole family this summer holiday. Visitors can expect multi-coloured lights, illuminating over 144 water jets, bringing dramatic displays and performances to life. With an early morning welcome to an evening finale, the fountains provide a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing experience with the reflection pool, inviting passers-by to enjoy a moment of calm and meditation by the fountain. Throughout the rest of the day, it is programmed with gentle and active jet displays ensuring there’s fun, laughter, and enjoyment for all ages and especially handy for hot days!
