BOXHALL City, one of London’s newest foodhalls, is set to welcome back celebrity chef Joyce Kudia, who will return as a permanent trader from 15th August, with her much-anticipated concept, Biléyi by MsJoyceK.
Joyce originally made her debut at BOXHALL City back in April 2025 as the very first chef to take residence at its Kitchen No.8 – BOXHALL’s innovative rotating chef residency, designed to showcase some of the UK’s most talented emerging chefs and culinary innovators. A well-known personality and star of Channel 4’s Five Star Chef: Britain’s Next Great Chef, she quickly became a firm favourite with guests.
But behind her growing reputation, Joyce’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable. With no prior experience running a restaurant, her time at Kitchen No.8 marked her first opportunity to step into a commercial kitchen of her own – a leap that not only paid off, but firmly established her as one of the capital’s most exciting new culinary voices.
Her signature Plantain Burger drew in fans from across the country, with queues out the door on her final day and social media buzzing with photos, praise and pleas for a comeback. With overwhelming demand for her return, Joyce will now have her own permanent space, bringing back her signature, Congolese-inspired dishes. Customers can expect the same bold flavours and heartwarming serves, from slow-smoked goat and flame grilled chicken, to plantain croquettes and cassava-infused specialities.
Set to be her first-ever restaurant, her new space will allow Joyce to expand her offering, continuing to champion bold flavours and creative takes on Congolese cuisine, while becoming a permanent fixture alongside BOXHALL City’s diverse line-up of global flavours, emerging brands, and established favourites.
Joyce Kudia, Celebrity Chef and Owner of Biléyi said: “I’m so excited to be returning to BOXHALL City. My time at Kitchen No.8 was a real game changer, giving me the platform to share the bold flavours and rich traditions of Congolese cuisine with a whole new audience. The response was incredible, and the energy, feedback and loyal customers I met have stayed with me ever since. Coming back now with a permanent spot means I can build on that momentum, keep creating, and welcome back familiar faces while hopefully winning over plenty of new ones too.”
