Vanguard Self Storage is once again supporting The Felix Project in a bold awareness-raising initiative by placing one of the charity’s iconic vans on the rooftop of its West London branch.
Visible from the A40, the striking installation is designed to draw attention to the growing issue of food insecurity in the capital and to highlight the scale of The Felix Project’s vital work. As a food redistribution charity, The Felix Project rescues surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it to people in need across the city.
In London last year, The Felix Project rescued over 18,000 tonnes of surplus food, redistributing the equivalent of over 43 million meals to more than 1,200 community organisations and primary schools across every London borough. This support is reaching communities at a time when demand for food aid continues to rise.
Will McCullagh, Managing Director of Vanguard Self Storage, said, “As a family-run business with a long history in the capital, we are committed to supporting our local charities and communities. We have worked with and supported The Felix Project previously, so we are proud to come together again to raise awareness of its vital work. We hope this helps to encourage the public and food businesses to support this important cause.”
Shane Dorsett, Chief Operating Officer at The Felix Project, added, “We know so many Londoners are really struggling. We recently discovered 43% of working London parents have skipped a meal or not bought themselves food to feed their children in the last 12 months, so partnerships like this are incredibly important in raising awareness. This visible show of support from Vanguard Self Storage helps shine a light on the issue, and we hope it inspires more people to get involved and support our mission to fight and stop hunger.”
The rooftop installation will remain in place until March, maximising its impact during the colder months when food insecurity is often at its most acute.
In September 2025, it was announced that The Felix Project would merge with FareShare to create a bigger and more ambitious organisation with greater national impact.
