On Wednesday 10 April Boisdale of Canary Wharf is set to present a sublime gala dinner with guest of honour Charlie Sheen.
Charlie Sheen is in the UK to be interviewed by LBC & Sky broadcaster and one of Britain’s most prominent journalists Nick Ferrari during The Viña Carmen Gala Dinner.
Charlie Sheen rose to fame after a series of successful films such as Platoon (1986), Wall Street (1987), Young Guns (1988), Major League (1989), Hot Shots! (1991) and The Three Musketeers (1993). In the 2000s, Sheen became best known for his television roles. He replaced Michael J. Fox in Spin City and his performance earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. Two and a Half Men brought several Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominations. He most recently starred in the comedy series Anger Management, which concluded its 100-episode run in 2014. In 2010, Sheen was the highest paid actor on television and earned $1.8 million per episode of Two and a Half Men.
Charlie Sheen’s personal life has been tumultuous and very much in the spotlight. In 2015 the actor revealed he was HIV-positive and struggled with addictions. However most recently in a radical turnaround the 51-year-old star adopted a vegan diet and embarked on a path to improve his health and get “back in touch with all aspects of life.”
Bringing together Charlie Sheen’s fans, Boisdale friends and customers, the illustrious evening will harness Boisdale’s uniquely eclectic style, hosted by Managing Director Ranald Macdonaldwith entertainment from The Boisdale Rhythm and Blues Band and culminate with the Q&A followed by more drinks and cigars on the heated cigar terrace and Latin sounds with DJ Bruno.
The reception will feature two exquisite Davidoff cigars – the Anniversario Entreacto and Escurio, Boisdale Premier Cru Champagne, Belvedere Martinis and Silkie Irish whiskey cocktails.
The sumptuous dinner will comprise of Bowmore whisky cured Dunkeld smoked salmon with seasonal English asparagus, fennel, pink grapefruit & brown crab mayonnaise accompanied by the outstanding Carmen Fume Blanc Reserva 2017, Leyda Valley, Chile and the main course of finest 28 day dry aged Buccleuch Estates fillet of beef, braised oxtail pithivier, spring greens, smoked Jersey Royal purée will be perfectly complemented by Carmen Syrah Gran Reserva 2014, Colchagua Valley, Chile.
A selection of British farmhouse cheeses, Doyenne du Comice pears, Boisdale chutney, oat cakes will be served to finish the dinner with Carmen Cabernet Sauvignon Gold Reserva 2009, Maipo Valley, Chile.
